Wuzhou Snake Park
Situated in Shigu Road at the foot of Mt. Baiyun, Wuzhou Snake Park was built originally as a storehouse of small animals under Guangxi Grain, Oil & Foodstuff Import & Export Wuzhou Corporation in 1956. It was formally named as Wuzhou Snake Park when Mr.Tian Jiyun - then vice premier of the State Council, visited the park and wrote down the calligraphy of "Wuzhou Snake Park" on January 18, 1988. Surrounded by green hills, the park is the largest base for breeding and storing living snakes in the world with a four-storey breeding building of over 10000 square meters and underground storehouses. Wuzhou Snake Park is the Kingdom of Snakes: live snakes such as python, cobra, king cobra, adder, etc. and snake products, snake liquor, snake bladder, lyophilized powder of snake venom, snake skin, frozen snakes and snake specimen. One of the most fascinating scenes of the park is the fighting between a poisonous snake and a mongoose. Usually the mongoose wins the battle as it has a kind of anti-poison element in its body.
